FLOATING SHELF
The same Size but different DESIGN Details
The dimensions of the each hexagon is exact same dimensions, but I had this idea to make each join different in the way the joints were cut.
How it was made
The shelf is made from inexpensive cedar boards which were sanded. The wooden pieces are kept together with sealed pocket head screws and wood glue. The finish is wipe on poly.
TIps
I found it really helpful to lay out the pieces and visualize the size while making cuts. It allowed for more creative joins. I knew I wanted at least two long horizontal pieces to be used for mounting the frame on the wall, but I wasn’t sure exactly how it would come together.
